Regular/Temporary: Regular Travel Percentage: 5 - 10% Description:
Responsibilities Basic PurposeProvides comprehensive engineering
design services for substation facilities and ensures the
facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed
resource allocations. Provides leadership, training, and direction
to fellow staff members. Demonstrates more complex technical work
and directs others in technical work in performing all phases of
projects with minimal guidance. Assists principal engineers and
managers on higher-level projects. Essential Duties and
ResponsibilitiesDevelops economical, technically feasible, reliable
substation physical and control designs with minimal supervision
and guidance. Technical management of multiple substation projects
and prioritization of work, working collaboratively with outside
consulting firms and internal stakeholders. Ensures quality control
on assigned projects by providing construction support as needed,
including coordination with construction forces and job site
inspections. Provides coordination and communication with other
departments in completing procurement tasks on projects with
minimal supervision or guidance. Assists and guides other
departments in the solution of non-standard substation design
problems. Provides accurate cost estimates for use in company
budgeting procedures such that cash flow requirements are
identified. Provides input for development of detailed project
schedules and update project management system to reflect the
status of projects assigned. Ensures all compliance aspects of
position are known and followed; understands and complies with all
policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned. Requirements Essential
Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work
ExperienceBachelor's degree from accredited school in electrical
engineering and 5 years industry experience as a practicing
engineer and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license, must have 8+
years as a practicing engineer. Specialized Knowledge and
SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of: Substation/control engineering
principals and knowledge of other phases of engineering. Areas of
cost control, budgets, finance, and accounting with technical
experiences in cost analysis. Demonstrated skills such as:
Analytical, interpersonal and communication with company personnel,
customers, and regulatory agencies Multi-tasking, leadership,
research, analysis, project management, problem-solving and
decision-making. Equipment and ApplicationsPCs, word processing,
spreadsheet and database software.Work Environment and Physical
DemandsGeneral office environment with some field work for
supervision. Compensation Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400
(Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at
the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented
